Questions
Will my customers find the texts annoying?
Reminders are spread over three weeks and start friendly. Each customer opts in by replying YES before any texts go out, and can reply STOP at any time. If they don't reply YES within a day, or reply STOP, the invoice and reminders go to their email instead, as long as you've added one.
What happens when a customer pays?
If they pay online, the invoice is marked paid and reminders stop automatically. If they pay another way, mark it paid in one tap. When a customer says they paid with Venmo, PayPal or Zelle, you get a text to confirm.
Does InvoiceNag take a cut of my payments?
No. Card and bank payments go straight to your own Stripe account, where Stripe charges its standard processing fee. InvoiceNag only charges the $20 monthly subscription.
Do I need a Stripe account?
No. You can list Venmo, PayPal or Zelle instead. Add Stripe if you want customers to pay by card or straight from their bank account.
Stripe is the payment company millions of businesses use. The account is free, with no setup or monthly fees: Stripe only takes a fee when a customer pays you. Connecting it from InvoiceNag takes about 5 minutes, and bank (ACH) payments are switched on from the start.
Bank payments cost far less than cards. Stripe's standard fee is 0.8%, capped at $5, versus 2.9% + 30¢ for a card. On a $2,000 invoice, that's $5 instead of $58.30. The money takes a few business days to clear.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
Yes. You won't be charged until your 14-day trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then.
Are there extra fees for texts?
No. All reminders are included in the $20 monthly price.
Can customers agree to texts in my contract?
Yes. Add our short texting clause to your contracts or estimates, and have customers initial it next to their mobile number. They'll still get one text asking them to reply YES, but they'll be expecting it.
What's the difference between an estimate and an invoice?
An estimate is a price your customer approves online before you start the job. Nothing is owed yet, and no reminders go out. An invoice is a bill for work they owe: InvoiceNag sends it and reminds them until it's paid. When a customer approves an estimate, you turn it into an invoice with one tap.
